Buenos Aires, December 13 (NA) – One of the most iconic phrases spoken by actor Héctor Alterio, who passed away this Saturday at the age of 96, was: 'The devil, but it's worth being alive'. Alterio starred in 'Wild Horses' (1995) alongside Leonardo Sbaraglia, Fernán Mirás, and Cecilia Dopazo. The film was directed by Marcelo Piñeiro, according to the Argentine News Agency. In a radio interview, the actor revealed that the line was the director's idea. He had called writer Aida Bortnik because 'he was struggling to close a scene' and spoke with her on set. The Oscar winner for 'The Official Story' (1986) recalled: 'We were on a hill in the middle of a field, and Héctor's character was alone. And so, he recounted almost in detail what was happening in each scene. It was then that she got inspired and asked him: 'Tell Héctor that his character should say, 'The devil, but it's worth being alive'. Without hesitation, Marcelo added it, and I later said it with all my might'.
